i hope this holiday season proved to be fun for all <3

i've been off work and have had time to reflect on a lot of shit and have come to the conclusion that things are pretty okay. the shitty economy has had absolutely zero effect on me, which i consider myself lucky for. for 2010 i'll continue buckling down, saving a bit more money.

2009 was a year of decadence. not mainstreet decadence, but government and wallstreet decadence. and massive stimuli that artificially raise GDP. none of this is good.

i had a crazy English teacher back in ninth grade who constantly told the class to buy stock in gold.

( he also had a weird affinity for the word "saucy" and predicted that America would be overrun by the Japanese around 2020...so take that as you will. )

i'm not about to hide in a bunker with firearms and gold and four years supply of food, but with the way things are going i'll probably wish i had been so paranoid :3

my xmas haul is as follows:

-Fujifilm Instax Mini ( i love instant cameras, and also want the full-sized Fujifilm model. i also happen to own a vintage polaroid, but the film is expensive and hard to find. )
-Dio, Holy Diver CD ( don't ask, i like metal now )
-Borderlands for xbox360 ( mix of FPS and RPG with a sci-fi element )
-Tom Goes to the Mayor ( full series )
-Tim and Eric Awesome Show ( season 1 )
-The Office ( season 5 )

-Wyoming Stories 3, Annie Proulx

AND i'm purchasing a sewing machine so i can start creating some designs i had in mind for plushies and things.
